Our MLM designs are a simpler, more economical way of producing climbing walls while maintaining the same strength and customization as all Vertical Solutions products. Our dual-layer, 1” thick walls are mostly manufactured off-site, cutting site time down significantly. However, a final layer of finish sheeting is applied on-site after the initial walls are assembled, creating the rigidity and ultra-clean, seamless look we’re known for. Once assembled on-site, all of the high-end stains, textures and finishes are still available to our clients that we use with our premium ARC wall systems.
Housed in Long Beach’s historic Packard building (1926), Long Beach Rising is an all-bouldering climbing gym and fitness facility offering 5,000 square feet of vertical terrain 15ft in height. They utilized Multi-Layer Modular geometric panels for the bouldering walls, and the natural grains of the birch hardwood goes perfectly with the aesthetic of the rest of their gym.
Latitude is Norfolk, Virginia's first climbing gym with over 5,000 square feet of diverse climbing wall space, utilizing both MLM and ARC walls. The mixture of these two wall styles creates varied complexity for both climbers and route setters alike.
Rock Spot Climbing, a well established gym chain with locations in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, trusted us to design and build their newest facility. This Providence gym boasts our signature Multi-Layer Modular walls, as well as a number of training boards, exercise equipment and a sizable retail area. We're stoked to have contributed to this awesome New England brand's success.
The Front Climbing Club in Ogden, UT, is located in a fantastic downtown historic building and utilizes MLM wall end-cap to join both opposing sides of the climbing facility. The cave here is deeper than it looks, but climbers have the security of Habit Flooring beneath them so they can session without worry of injury.

One of the first things that a climber will notice at The Crag in Nashville, is how cohesive this entire indoor climbing gym is from walls to floors to retail. Everything was meticulously detailed, which meant the owners incorporating some massive hardwood inlays on the MLM walls to make the space genuinely stunning visually.
When CIBA set out to deliver a dedicated indoor climbing community for their small market in Sierra Vista, AZ, they needed to do so with the right project scope and budget. So they decided to have a clean and efficient MLM design and wall construction that incorporated a paint motif complimenting the geometric style as well as the surrounding landscape.
When The Front Climbing Club in Salt Lake City decided to expand into a large new building, they made sure to increase their bouldering wall area with this new MLM wall section. Simple and subtle, the walls feature two caves of different sizes and depths, and hardwood treatment at joints and top rail.

This custom MLM wall for Eddie Bauer was fully functional despite being more of a showpiece for their storefront. This project wound up being similar to one of our home-wall projects, but it shows just one of the possibilities for surface treatments when using the Vertical Solutions MLM wall system .
This MLM climbing wall and cave at The Front Climbing Club in Ogden, UT, actually connects two opposing climbing walls and allows climbers to spread out on both sides of the facility. More importantly, the efficient design allows the space to remain open and airy with tons of natural light.

Just like all of our systems large and small, we 3D laser scanned the existing structure of this Eddie Bauer storefront and got to work on an MLM wall system with a complex meeting of multiple hardwood surfaces for an interesting overhung roof.
This MLM wall section at Brooklyn Boulders OG location in Brooklyn, was part of a Vertical Solutions upgrade to part of their facility that included an area of more modern walls and finishes. This MLM area was seamless integrated into an ARC wall system further into the facility.

Two climbers solving problems while one more looks-on at the main boulder feature here at this indoor climbing gym, built of MLM design and construction. Unified by design with the route climbing walls, this boulder is one of the most popular features in the gym due to its vast variety in natural wall angles and problems that results. Also of note is the super-clean Habit Flooring install for both bouldering and route climbing.
Geometric wall design doesn’t get much better than Salt Lake City’s Front Climbing Club. You can see the highly aesthetic hardwood details on panel joints and the top rail here in this picture, in addition to the natural grains of the birch hardwood finish that can accommodate any friction finish you are looking for.
A smaller project doesn’t mean it has to lack impact. This MLM wall done for an Eddie Bauer storefront has many of the traditional elements of a proper climbing wall, including the precise fit and finish associated with Vertical Solutions projects of greater scale.
Crux Climbing Center in Austin had a stellar design plan and settled on VS to build it, as seen here with one of the bouldering area overviews, with mezzanine for systems boards above. All of this design was done in MLM wall construction and was well-rounded with a variety of natural birch, hardwood inlay and custom paint finishes.
The rope climbing area of Crux Climbing Center in Austin is using MLM construction just like their bouldering walls. Originally conceived for a different builder, Vertical Solutions applied the MLM style to this design and delivered a stunning product.

A main distinguishing feature of Crux Climbing Center is the massive bouldering cave built with MLM construction and measuring 13’ in ceiling height. The MLM walls accommodated the lights necessary to make the cave a success and has an impressive look to climbers entering for the first time.
Santa Fe Climbing Center uses a plethora of surface changes in its MLM wall design to visually create depth and intrigue amongst climbers old and new. Surface changes are complimented with custom colors, on-brand for the gym including a custom logo front and center.
A separate bouldering island is alongside the roped climbing area at Santa Fe Climbing Center. The owners chose MLM construction for both approaches, opting for the ease and simplicity in which the design could be manufactured and customized to their liking.

The owners of Santa Fe Climbing Center wanted a full-length area for kids to be introduced to rope climbing so they continued with the MLM design to add a simple feature behind the expert lead climbing area to accommodate this initiative.
The overhung lead climbing found at Santa Fe Climbing Center was made possible by our MLM style wall designs and has enough flexibility to accommodate all traditional and custom-designed needs of today’s modern gyms.
